Christian Parker Borum, CMT, RN, BSN began her career helping others as a nurse in 1995.  She quickly came to understand that there was more to healing than western medicine alone offered.  She completed her initial course work in massage therapy at the Fuller School of Massage Therapy in 1999 and has been practicing body work ever since.

In 2002 Christian completed her certification program for Neuromuscular Therapy with Judith DeLany at the Potomac Mills Massage School in Washington D.C.  She went on to get her certification in Manual Lymph Drainage at the Dr. Vodder School in Walchsee, Austria in 2005. She completed additional training in Lymphatic Massage Level 1 & 2 with Equilibrium Therapy in 2007. She has taken  Biodynamic Cranio-Sacral course 1 with The Lyons Institute in 2008.  Christian is also trained to treat repetitive use injuries with Muscle Release Technique, which is a form of soft tissue release.

Most recently she has completed two courses in Ashiatsu Massage, the first, a basics course at DeepFeet Bar Therapy in Durham, North Carolina in March of 2017.  The second was an intermediate course at FasciAshi, also in Durham in May of 2017, and this is now her main modality.   The technique name, from the Japanese, “Ashi” meaning Foot and “Atsu” meaning into pressure, specializes in barefoot massage where firm, consistent pressure is applied through the broader surface of the foot to provide a deep and  consistent therapeutic massage without pain or discomfort.

Christian offers 60, 90, and 120 -minute sessions in any of her specific modalities but prefers to use a more holistic approach to treatment by incorporating all of her techniques, as needed, in a regular, periodic bodywork regimen.  She feels honored to work with a wide array of clients and helping them discover healthy, practical choices.  She has been a Norfolk resident for 30 years and lives in West Ghent with her husband Witt and precious daughter Millie.
