Diane McCabe
C-IAYT Yoga Therapist, RYT500, Health and Wellness Specialist, CNHP
I was introduced to yoga in 1973 as a college student, and it was love at first sight! Like many relationships, and like our asana practice, my yoga “relationship” took many twists, turns and a few detours in those early years. But in 1997 I walked into a class and knew that I was“home.” Since that moment, I have continually studied to deepen my practice and my
understanding of the multi-layered gifts of yoga.
My teaching career began over 18 years ago. I have been privileged to have studied with a variety of teachers and in a variety of lineages over the years, including: Integral, Iyengar, Ananda Marga, Viniyoga, Restorative, Adaptive Yoga, Yoga in Chairs, Subtle Yoga and Yoga Therapy.
In addition to my yoga trainings, I have been a Nutritionist and WellnessSpecialist since February of 2000, and have studied breath work and various spiritual disciplines
and modalities. For over 10 years I have taught a weekly Yoga in Chairs Class for people living
with MS. I also offer monthly workshops for a local neurology practice, provide on-site weekly
and bi-weekly classes for several local businesses, and offer private sessions for Yoga Therapy,
pain management and stress management.
While my teaching style is a distillation and integration of all of the above, I am proud to be a Subtle ® Yoga Teacher. “Subtle ® Yoga is a broadly applicable, person-centered approach to yoga practice which can be tailored to diverse/different/unique/individual body types and physical abilities. Subtle ® Yoga incorporates mindful movement, breathing practices,
meditation, ethical engagement, and spiritual development in order to promote body
awareness, mindfulness, self-regulation, resiliency and self-actualization. “ *
I am delighted and honored to join The Space Above team.
