Join Chelsea Latham for a 3 part series

exploring the traditional lineage of yogasun salute

Saturday June 4th, 11th, and 18th  8:30 – 10:00am

Come for one session or all three, available for class pass or drop-in rates.

Class begins with a series of warm ups, including sun salutations and faster movements that link body to breath to create a more intimate internal connection. We then move onto the ground to cover some of the core traditional sequences. Poses are held longer, giving students the opportunity to relax and turn awareness inward to the reactions of body and breath. This awareness brings about greater control over the breath, enabling students to challenge the limits of the body, but maintain peaceful minds, continuously seeking balance between engagement and submission.

Each session will cover a wide spectrum of poses to evenly stretch and strengthen the entire body: backbends, twists, inversions, standing and balancing poses. We then finish with an extended period of rest and a series of breathing exercises to restore the nervous system creating a calming sensation.

Chelsea LathamThis tradition emphasizes the importance of connecting with the body within each pose to maximize the benefits and minimize the likelihood of injury, creating a pose that is most beneficial for each individual’s body on each individual day.

Chelsea earned her teaching certification at Siva Soorya Divine School of Yoga, a small ashram in Kerala, India under the tutelage of Guru Raviji
